Alice Bernice Hodson, age 87, of Mankato, died on August 1, 2009 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 7, 2009 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Judson with Rev. Jim Ahlquist officiating. Burial will be at Hebron Cemetery north of Judson following the service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Alice was born November 15, 1921 in Mankato to Gerold and Rose Hendley. She graduated high school and was united in marriage to Herbert "Bill" Hodson on June 18, 1948. Alice was a member of and very active in the Bethany Lutheran Church in Judson. She was the organist for many years at church. Alice loved life on the farm as well as gardening, feeding the birds, the outdoors, playing cards, and bowling. She was an active member on the cemetery board as well.
Alice is survived by her two nieces: Mary (David) Gross of Springfield, Larene Ann (Dave) Bode of Nicollet; three nephews: Thomas (Michele) Esser of Los Osos, CA, Douglas (Judy) Hendley of Nicollet, Brady Hendley of Nicollet; one brother: Heinie (Donna) Hendley of Maple Plaine.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother.
