Former Lake Crystal area resident, Gloria Marie Rustman, age 52 currently of Lake Gilchrist, rural Glenwood, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Nancy Dreier officiating. Burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Memorials are preferred to the Pope County Hospice Program.
Gloria was born November 24, 1955 in Madelia to Harold and Kathryn (Knowles) Torgerson. Gloria attended area schools, including Granite Falls Technical Institute. On February 17, 1973, she married Ronald D. Rustman at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal. They had four children and made their home in Montevideo and retired to the Glenwood area. Gloria was a homemaker for her family, an accountant for Peterson Electric in Montevideo, and a cashier for the Pamida Pharmacy in Glenwood.
Gloria was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal and Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo and was a current member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran church in Swift Falls. She was an active volunteer for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Projects. She enjoyed floral gardening, bird watching, and scrap booking. She loved to clean, shop and read, but her passion included spending time with her grandchildren.
Survived by her husband, Ronald Rustman of Lake Gilchrist, rural Glenwood; three sons, Bruce (Amanda) Rustman of Montevideo, Brian Rustman of rural Glenwood, Jesse (Holly) Rustman of Foreston; daughter, Melissa Rustman of Mankato; two grandchildren, Cassidy and Connor; parents, Harold and Kathryn Torgerson of Madelia; two brothers, Barry (Shelley) Torgerson of Laguna Hills, CA, Randy (Stephanie) Torgerson of Aliso Viejo, CA; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and other extended family.
Gloria was preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law; maternal and paternal grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.
