Longtime ISJ Pharmacist, Eugene Struck, age 69, died Monday, January 7, 2008 at ISJ Hospital in Mankato.
Service 1:30 p.m. Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church, Rev. Jim Ahlquist officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
Eugene Fredrick William Struck was born December 23, 1938 in Fairmont to William and Alma (Bicknase) Struck. He married Virgene Prouty on June 20, 1964 in Worthington. Gene worked for Thro Drug, taught school in Garden City, and was employed for 30 years at ISJ Pharmacy. After retirement, he worked as a relief pharmacist in the area. Gene was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. He enjoyed karate, being a ham radio operator, and was interested in natural medicine.
Survivors include daughter, Jodene Johnson of North Mankato; two grandchildren, Alexa and Ryan; and a brother, Sylvan (Carolyn) Struck of Sherburn; sisters-in-law, Tahma (Lyle) Knudson, Yvette (Don) Nelson; nieces and nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Virgene in 1997.
