Beverly Joan Meyer, age 72, of North Mankato, passed away peacefully December 30, 2007 at Immanuel Saint Joseph's Hospital after a long courageous battle with numerous health issues.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2007 at Mankato Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Betty Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Beverly was born February 18, 1935 in Mankato to Norman and Inez (Koppen) Suserud. She grew up in North Mankato, graduated from Mankato High School, married and had two children, and later divorced. She worked as an office manager for Home Foam Insulation and Snelling and Snelling, before retiring from Cargil in St. Peter.
Bev had many passions in life, she loved to draw and was very artistic. She was an avid bowler and pool player and was very successful at both. She loved her garden when she was able to work at it, and got much pleasure seeing the butterfly bushes bloom. She helped start the South Avenue monthly neighborhood dinner party club in July in 1974, and it is still going strong today. She loved taking summer vacations with her family and especially enjoyed Lake Francis.
Bev is survived by her daughters, Deb Raines of Mankato, Kim Wannarka and husband, Joe of Vernon Center; grandchildren, Jessica Raines and special friend, Steve Barker, Jennifer Raines and special friend, Dustin Doust, Joshua Raines and wife, Erin all of Mankato, Aron Wannarka of Vernon Center; great-grandson, Alexander Doust of Mankato; two sisters, Norma Lerdall and husband, Warren of North Mankato, Carol Lageson and husband, John of Warren, OH; brother, Bobby Suserud and wife, Katina of Rockledge, FL; sister-in-law, Rose Suserud; and her best friend and companion through the years, her beloved dog, Joey; many nieces and nephews that she loved very much; brother-in-law, Pete (Sharon) Meyer; three sisters-in-law, Pamela Struessel, Janet Wichmann, and Sandy Meyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; sister, Betty; brother, John; her cat, Katee; and her dogs, Smokey and Patches. She loved her pets like children.
A special thanks to the Hillcrest Health Care Center for all the wonderful care they gave her in her last months of life. She would have wanted to say a special thanks to Jesse and Adam.
