Kathie S Davis

Kathie S. Davis, age 62, of Mankato, died Saturday, December 1, 2007 at her home.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Mankato Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Michael Roy officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery in Winnebago, MN.

Kathie was born on Aug. 29, 1945 in Kansas City, Kansas to Victor and Muza (Eisenberger) Spencer. She grew up in Winnebago and spent most of her adult life working to build better communities throughout Southern Minnesota. Before launching her own consulting firm, Resource Connections, Davis worked as the Public Information Coordinator/Marketing Director for the Region Nine Development Commission. She published the Amboy Country Times and Winnebago Homesteader from 1981-1985. She also worked as the Nutrition Project Director for the Minnesota Valley Action Council (1979-1981). Kathie served as the executive director of the Amboy Chamber of Commerce. Other employers included The Free Press and KBEW Radio.

Kathie was a member of Greater Mankato Area Economic Development, the Riverbend Center for Entrepreneurial Facilitation Board, the StarLight Gala and VINE fundraising committee, Women's Inc. Foundation Board, Southern Minnesota Advocates Board of Directors, St. Andrews Housing Assoc. Board, Initiative Foundation's Regional Housing Academy steering committee, Mankato Area Chamber of Commerce and has served as a regional representative on the Home Ownership Centers Advisory Council.

Kathie is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Jo Davis of Minneapolis and Marci Timlin of St. Cloud; 2 grandchildren, Brea and Chase Timlin; and sister, Julie (Gary) Owen of Winnebago. Kathie was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Muza Spencer.
