Steven John Schoneck, age 36, of Amboy, died Sunday, October 14, 2007 at his home.
Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 19, 2007 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Good Thunder. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Mankato Mortuary with a 3:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Catholic Cemetery, Vernon Center.
Steven was born November 26, 1970 to J. Bradley and Agnes (Sonnek) Schoneck in Mankato. After graduating from Mapleton, Amboy, Good Thunder High School in 1989. He attended Worthington Community College where he played football. He also attended South Central Technical College where he studied auto mechanics. On December 21, 1996, Steven was united in marriage to Cathy Borchardt at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Mapleton. He worked at Amboy Bus Service as a dispatcher, mechanic, and driver. He was a volunteer fire fighter and training officer with the Amboy Volunteer Fire Department. Steven loved to play darts, golf, and hunt.
Steven is survived by his wife, Cathy Schoneck of Amboy; two children, Hunter and McKenzie Schoneck of Amboy; father, Brad Schoneck of Amboy; three brothers, Gregg (Kim) Schoneck of Good Thunder, Brian (Pam) Schoneck of Good Thunder, and Jared (Sonya) Schoneck of Mapleton; nieces and nephews, Justin, Jordon, and Britney Schoneck and Scott, Kyle, and Paul Schoneck; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ivan and Donna Borchardt of Good Thunder; brothers-in-law, Craig Borchardt and special friend, Jill Neubauer of Mapleton, Todd (Heidi) Borchardt of Madison Lake, and Terry (Jodi) Borchardt of Good Thunder; sister-in-law, Sherry (Paul) Langworthy of Good Thunder; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Schoneck; grandparents; and two uncles.
