Leona M Reiter

Leona M. Reiter, age 80, of Mankato and formerly of Garden City, died Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Hillcrest Healthcare Center.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Garden City Christian Church in Garden City with Pastor Tom Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Garden City Cemetery. Lake Crystal Mortuary is handling the arrangements.

Leona was born June 11, 1927 to Frank and Jessie (Snow) Cowing in Nashville Township, Martin County. On June 11, 1944 she was united in marriage to Archie Reiter in Truman, MN. Leona was a member of the Garden City Christian Church. She was a huge animal lover who also loved to cook, garden, and knit. Leona will be greatly missed by her family.

Leona is survived by her daughter, Donna (John) Zuehlke of Garden City; grandson, Eric (Karen) Zuehlke of Garden City; three sisters, Ruth Scarce of Austin, TX, Eleanor Wolf of Fairmont, Helen (Vernon) Hart of Fairmont; a dear friend of the family, Josephine Knewtson; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Archie; brothers, John and Doug Cowing; and sisters, Barbara Franklin and Thelma Olson.
