Loraine Roberts, age 90, of Lake Crystal, died Friday, October 5, 2007 at the Lake Crystal Health Care Center.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Burial will be in Cambria Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 " 7 p.m., Monday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Tuesday.

Loraine was born October 25, 1916 to Lonnie and Sadie (Halverson) Evenson in Butternut Valley Township, Blue Earth County. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1934. She was united in marriage to Orval Roberts on November 14, 1936 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Butternut. She had worked as a Cambria Township Officer and enjoyed baking and decorating wedding and birthday cakes of which she make hundreds and also taught cake decorating classes. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and its PWC, Home Extension Club, and the Crystalette's Kitchen Band. Loraine enjoyed gardening, singing and music, raising geese, traveling, crocheting, and ceramics. She was a loving mother and grandmother for her family.

Loraine is survived by two sons, John (Jane) Roberts of Eagan, Bob (Vickie) Roberts of Lake Crystal; daughter, Darlene Roberts of Lake Crystal; three daughters-in-law, Marilyn (Charles) Robinson, Sandy (Dean) Meixell, Barb Roberts all of Lake Crystal; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Roberts of Bloomington; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Loraine was preceded in death by her husband, Orval in 1975; four sons, Jim, Donald, David, and Glenn; son-in-law, Bill Masters; brother, Vernon Evenson.
