Harold A. Schaub, age 79 of Eagle Lake, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Janesville Nursing Home in Janesville, MN.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Eagle Lake Church of Christ with Pastor Jeff Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Eagle Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4"7 p.m., Friday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be given to Eagle Lake Church of Christ. Those invited to the Open House, Sunday afternoon at the church, please join us Saturday instead, at the service to celebrate Harold's life with a luncheon and a time of fellowship.
Harold Schaub was born September 25, 1927 in Mankato, MN to William and Emma (Guetzel) Schaub. Harold was united in marriage to Audrey (Fowler) Schaub on January 23, 1959 in Eagle Lake. Audrey loved to cook and he loved to eat. He enjoyed playing the guitar, mandolin, the Hawaiian guitar, and most of all, picking the banjo. Harold was a Picker and Grinner who was in different groups that played at nursing homes, parties, and parades.
He is survived by his two sons, Alvin (Kathleen) Schaub of Waseca, William Schaub of Eagle Lake; two grandchildren, Angela (Jason) Stutzka and Joel Schaub; great-granddaughter, Jasmine Stutzka; one sister, Helen (Glen) Crase of Mankato, and many other family and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey, March 28, 2007, and his parents.
