Lozina E Samuelsen

Lozina E. "Channey" Samuelsen, age 86, of Mankato, died Monday, September 10, 2007 at Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Donohue Sarff officiating. Private family burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Lozina was born on April 24, 1921 in St. Cloud, MN to Paul and Edith (Behrendt) Fahrenholz. She was a graduate of St. Cloud Tech High School and had attended Drew Business College. Lozina married Glenn D. Samuelsen , July 6, 1947 in St. Cloud, MN. From 1969 until 1986, she worked as a Senior Account Clerk in the Business Office at Mankato State University. Lozina also participated in the Altar Guild at Christ the King Lutheran Church.

Lozina is survived by her daughter, Susan (Jerry) Baumgartner of Burnsville, MN; son, Douglas (Paulette Bertrand) Samuelsen of New Richmond, WI; son, David (Teresa) Samuelsen of Mankato, MN; two grandchildren, Tracy (Steve) Welch of Tigard, OR and Krista (Tony) Bianchi-Rossi of Denver, CO; two great-grandchildren, Kaiya and Braeden; and also nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn in 1990; three sisters; and one brother.
