Stephen C. Jensen was born December 30, 1942 to Harry and Phyllis Jensen of St. Paul, MN. He was baptized at East Emmanuel Lutheran Church and later confirmed at Eastern Heights Lutheran Church, both in St. Paul. Stephen received his secondary education at Harding High School in St. Paul. In 1967 he received his B.A. in political science from Mankato State University. While there he proudly served as founding chapter president of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. June 17, 1967 Stephen was joined in marriage to Sharilyn Milburn. After a two year stint in the U.S. Army, he went on to complete, with distinction, an M.S. in European history from Mankato State University. In 1972, Stephen joined the faculty at Shattuck-St. Mary's school in Faribault, MN. While there, he found outlet for what would become a life-long passion for education, serving as board member and chair of the history department. 1976 marked Stephen and his family's move to Mankato, MN where he joined the brokerage firm of Piper Jaffray and Hopwood. After 25 years, many in service as Vice-President of his branch, he welcomed retirement. In his leisure time, Stephen enjoyed, most of all, his family and friends. He also nurtured an abiding passion for literature and travel.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Sharilyn Jensen; son, Dr. Geoffrey Jensen, of Denver, CO; daughter, Stephanie Jesteadt of Harrisonburg, VA;
son-in-law, Dr. Gregory Jesteadt of Harrisonburg, VA; beloved grandchild, Graham Jesteadt; brother, Dr. Thomas Jensen; sister, Catherine Ritmueller; sister, Janet Ross; and mother-in-law, Myrtle Milburn. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents.
