George Edward Busch, age 92, of Mankato, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2007 at Mankato House Health Care Center.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2007 at Mankato Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Don Rauscher officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Mankato Mortuary with a 5 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour before service at the mortuary on Monday.
George was born January 30, 1915 to Edward and Anna (Habinger) Busch in Ekalaka, Montana and moved with his family to Mankato in 1917. He attended Mankato High School. He was united in marriage to Evelyn R. Schaub on November 4, 1940 in Mankato. George was employed by Southwest Stages, Clements Auto, Continental Can, and retired from Midwest Electric. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. George enjoyed repairing motors, cars, lawnmowers and furniture.
George is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Mankato; daughter, Linda Borgmeier and husband, Phil of Eagle Lake; son, George Busch and wife, Laura of Madison Lake; three grandchildren, Jaimie Busch and wife, Noelle of Mankato, Kelly Garvin and husband, Marty of Eagle Lake, Anna Young and husband, Matt of St. Clair; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Sam, and Noah Busch, Olivia and Luke Garvin, and Katelyn Young; brother, Ralph Busch and wife, Clarice of Mankato; sister-in-law, LaRayne Schaub of Mankato; one nephew, six nieces, and many extended family.
George was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Joe Freed; brother-in-law, Richard Schaub.
