Gary Grant Gumto, age 67, of Mankato, formerly of Winnebago, died Saturday, December 3, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

A public visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Mankato Mortuary. A private family memorial service will be held.

Gary was born January 13, 1944 in Springfield, MN to Leslie and Minnie (Jensen) Gumto. He graduated from Jeffers High School in 1962, and later attended Worthington Junior College. Gary was united in marriage to Linda Crouse on June 19, 1964. He was owner and operator of Gumto Carpets in Winnebago. Gary and Linda moved to Mankato in 2001. He was a former member of the United Methodist Church in Winnebago. Gary enjoyed working on his cars and doing building projects, including his lake home. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Gary is survived by his wife, Linda Gumto of Rochester; three children, Jim (JoAnn) Gumto of Jackson, Brenda (fianc", Scott Ladd) Gumto of Lakeville, Terri (Greg) Gray of Byron; four grandchildren, Connor and Christopher Gumto, Parker and Jordan Gray; his mother, Minnie Gumto of Winnebago; two sisters, Kay (Dick) Adolphson of Hudson, WI and Jean (Clair) Thelin of La Jolla, CA; also nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Gumto.
