Carol J. Ranum, age 67, of Mankato, ended her courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at Laurels Peak in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Dr., North Mankato. Visitation will be held 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Northview and will continue one hour prior to service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato.

Carol was born December 18, 1943 to Frank and Mildred Paul in St. Cloud, MN. She graduated from High School in Eden Valley, MN. Carol was united in marriage to Arnold J. Ranum November 7, 1970 in Eden Valley. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. Carol enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending quality time with her family.

Carol is survived by her husband of 41 years, Arnold Ranum of Mankato; daughter, Melissa Ranum of Minneapolis; grandson, Brandon Ranum of Minneapolis; brothers, Ken Paul of Roseville and Harold Paul of Paynesville; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carol was preceded in death by her son, Michael in 1995; parents and brother, Don Paul.
