Virginia, known as "Ginny" to friends and loved ones, was born on February 18, 1933 to Richard Allen and Lydia Marie (Saari) McMullen in Ironwood, Michigan. As daughter of a Ben Franklin store manager, Ginny and her parents moved to a variety of locations throughout Minnesota during her youth. Ginny graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1951, and in 1954 she moved with her family to Pipestone, Minnesota. Ginny remained in Pipestone for many years. In 1999 she moved to St. Peter to be closer to her brother and his family and resided at the Benedictine Living Center of St. Peter.

Ginny had a knack for living a satisfying and happy life. She enjoyed a wide range of activities--crafts, collections, card games, puzzles, reading, etc., and was an especially avid fan of the Minnesota Twins. She made friends easily and her sweet and upbeat disposition was always heartening to those around her.

Ginny is survived by her nieces and nephews: Jeffrey and Ann (nee Petroni) McMullen of Sandy, Utah and their children Renzo and Natalie; Julie (and Scott) Humphrey of Jackson, Wyoming and their children Jake, Heather, Emily and Clay; Rick and Nicole (nee Hanson) McMullen of Jackson, Wyoming and their children, Amanda, Sam, Jamee and Cooper; Christine (and Lance) Windey of Jackson, Wyoming and their children, Lauren and Dominic; Nick McMullen of Mankato, Minnesota; and sister-in-law Anne McMullen of Cleveland, Minnesota.

Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dick McMullen; and her great-niece, Jessica Humphrey.

"As a light begins to fade and disappear in our world a star begins to shine in the Heavens." Rest in peace Ginny
