Sharon K. Turtle, age 62, of Mankato, died on Friday, November 4, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Mankato.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Hilltop United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Vanderwerf officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at North Mankato Mortuary-Northview and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at a later date at Woodland Hills Memorial Park.

Sharon was born on July 23, 1949 in New Ulm to Wilbert and Lucille (Zingler) King. She grew up in the Mankato area. Sharon was united in marriage to Richard Turtle in 1991 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in North Mankato. She worked at MRCI for five years. Sharon enjoyed gardening, going to the movie theater, going out to eat, cooking, and she really liked music. Sharon loved going for drives in the countryside looking at the fall leaves. She was a member of Hilltop United Methodist Church.

Sharon is survived by her husband Richard; four nieces, Belinda Jentz, Dianne King, Donna Reiss, and Jennifer Forristal; two nephews, Duane Swenson and Scott Kaus; and many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Julie Swenson and Patsy Kaus.
