Brian Jameson, age 61 of Mankato died on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Mankato Mortuary with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Brian was born on December 16, 1949 in St. Peter to Thomas and Jeanine (Philbrook) Jameson. He graduated from LeCenter High School in 1968 and then joined the US Army. He served two tours in Vietnam, earning a purple heart and numerous other awards. He was honorably discharged in July of 1974. Brian enjoyed astronomy and sciences, being outdoors, and had a love for animals: especially his dogs Buddy, Lucky, Snooks and Maddy.

Brian is survived by his fianc" Colleen Lynard Jameson; daughters: Patricia (fianc" Nathan Johnson) Lynard and Michelle Nelson; son: Adam Nelson and adopted son Paul; stepdaughters: Melanie Lynard, Jackie Senn and Krista Lynard; siblings: Bonnie (Les) Hartwig and Bruce Jameson Welckle; Stepmother Lavonne Jameson; stepsister: Cheryl (Bob) Collins; stepbrother: Terry (Lori) Stoering and four grandchildren: Josh, Cy, Levi and Jamie.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
