Martha L. Arndt, age 80, of North Mankato, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Hillcrest Health Care Center, Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 4, 2011 at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, North Mankato. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Beauford. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at North Mankato Mortuary - NORTHVIEW, 2060 Commerce Drive, and will continue one hour before service at church on Friday. Memorials are preferred to Mayo Clinic Health System Mankato - Hospice.

Martha Lucille was born April 13, 1931 to William Henry and Rosa (Schultz) Kimpton in Beauford Township, Blue Earth County. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1951. She had worked for restaurants and clerked in Mankato and Minneapolis. She was united in marriage to Dale L. Arndt on August 26, 1956 at the Beauford United Methodist Church. They had four children, Cynthia, Brenda, Dale, and Gregory. Martha was a homemaker for most of her life.

Martha enjoyed playing cards, bingo, walks to Spring Lake Park, and visiting with her family and friends. She liked to collect Beanie Babies and antiques and especially liked to go to Old Country Buffet. Her grandchildren called her "Grandma Goody" and knew there would always be treats at her house. She was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in North Mankato for over 52 years.

Martha is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Dave) Haas of Madison Lake, Brenda Arndt of North Mankato; son, Dale W. Arndt of North Mankato; four grandchildren, Melissa (Bill) Marks, Jessica (Tim) Ryan, Christine Haas, and Cullum Corpron; nine great-grandchildren, Trenton and Gavin Marks, Kyla Haas, Madison Flohrs-Nelson, Hannah and Sean Ryan, Micah and Nalani Haas-Allen, Colby Corpron; two sisters-in-law, Florence Selthum of Minneapolis and Susan Kimpton of Bend, Oregon; brother-in-law, Dr. Leonard (Lue) Arndt of Bloomington; nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; son, Gregory; daughter-in-law, Kelly; granddaughter, Jennifer Haas-Flohrs; twin brother, Alfred Kimpton; and brother, Carl Kimpton.
