John "Jack" Reichel Jr., age 84, of North Mankato, died Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato.
Graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October, 17, 2011 at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Jack was born March 25, 1927 to John and Lilly (Zach) Reichel Sr. in Mankato. He attended Mankato Schools. Jack served his country in the US Army and National Guard and served in Korea from 1952 - 1953. When he returned home he worked at a block layer for Carlstom Construction in Mankato, he retired in 1980.
He was a member of the Mankato Moose, Eagles, American Legion Post # 11, and VFW post # 950.
Jack enjoyed watching and feeding birds and also had a passion for watching the weather.
He is survived by his nephew, James (Nancy) Bellig of North Mankato; nieces Lynn (John) Haugland of Winona; Dianne Paige of Green Bay, WI; grandniece, Kendra (Aaron) Daby of Mankato; grandnephew, John (Marlene) Whipplinger of Conger; Art Whipplinger of Albert Lea; other family members.
Preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and two brother.
