Jack L. Hall, age 85, of Mankato, died on Monday, October 10, 2011 at Hillcrest Nursing Home from complications of Myeloid Fibrosis.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church with Rev. Dean Wolf officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Private family burial will be held at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Jack was born on January 14, 1926 in Minneapolis to Harold and Viola (Hemmenway) Arbuckle. Jack was placed in the Owatonna State School for Children, along with his brother, Daryl and sister, June on November 10, 1933. Jack was placed for adoption with Alfred and Liela (Cords) Hall of Eagle Lake in 1937. He attended the Rural Wood School and after school he entered the U.S. Army 77th Infantry. He served overseas in the Phillipines, Okinawa, and Japan. After returning home in November 1947 he met Donna Mae Pierce and they were united in marriage on July 24, 1948.

Jack worked at Archer Daniels Midland from 1950 until he retired in 1991. Jack really enjoyed woodworking, gardening, golf, reading, and attending auctions.

Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Donna of Mankato; children, Greg (Mary Lou) Hall of Janesville, Penny (Bruce) Kirby of Courtland, Brad (Joyce) Hall of Bellingham, WA, and Brian (Shirley) Hall of Good Thunder; grandchildren, Matthew Hall of Mankato, Joshua Kirby of Sioux Falls, Adam Hall of St. Clair, Jacie Chambers (Ted) of Amboy, and Wyatt Hall of Bellingham, WA; great-grandchildren, Justin Chambers of Amboy and Madisyn and Mikhaila Hall of St. Clair; sister, June Thompson of Eagle Lake; sisters-in-law, Dona Pierce of Mankato, LuJean Bonge (Ken) of Lincoln, NE, and Pauline Arbuckle of Conneaut, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Daryl Arbuckle of Conneaut, OH, granddaughter, Morgan Hall of Janesville, and niece, Cheryl Brown of Conneaut, OH.
