Rita A Jewison

Rita Alice Jewison, age 90, of Mankato died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Marysburg. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Marysburg. Visitation will be held from 1 " 4 p.m., Sunday at Marysburg Church. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are preferred to Pathstone Living.

Rita was born December 7, 1919 to Francis and Mary (Haley) Schmidt in Washington Township, Le Sueur County. She graduated from Cleveland High School. Rita was united in marriage to Arthur Jewison on June 28, 1941 in Inglewood, California. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, and the Le Sueur County Extension Club. Rita enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren and her family.

Rita is survived by her five children, Judith Jewison O.P. of Eagan, Jayne (Gary) Gehrke of Le Center, Donna (Douglas) Hewitt of North Mankato, Gary (Kelly) Jewison of Le Sueur, and Paul (Donna) Jewison of Chatfield; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Elva Beer of Le Center; sister-in-law, Harriet Schmidt of Madison Lake; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur in 1998; son, Dale in 1995; two sisters, Vernace Olson and Lucille Herbert; brother, Roy Schmidt.
