Dustin Daniel Lemke, age 18 of Eagle Lake, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 8, 2010 at Meritcare Hospital in Fargo, N.D. from injuries sustained in a highway pedestrian and automobile accident.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 14, 2010 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Andy Ritchie and Dave Zellar officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Private family burial will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hosanna Lutheran Church, Echo Food Shelf, or to an organization of the donor's choice. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.
Dustin was born on July 20, 1991 in Mankato to Dan and Jackie (Olson) Lemke. Dustin was a 2009 graduate of Mankato East High School and was currently attending North Dakota State University. This past summer he worked with the Mankato Moondogs organization. Dustin was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church, where he participated in the church youth group and the Praise bands. Dustin was very active in sports and music in high school. He played football, basketball, and baseball and was in the school band, choir, and orchestra. Dustin also played in a local band, "Neon and the Noble Gases". He was passionate about life, his friends, and his faith in God.
Dustin is survived by his parents, Dan and Jackie Lemke and sister, Kjersten Lemke all of Eagle Lake; paternal grandparents, Arnold and Ruth Lemke of Fairmont; maternal grandparents, Lester and Marlys Olson of Madison; also many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents.
