Kathleen (Riley) McArthur

Kathleen "Kathy" M. (Riley) McArthur, age 65, of Lake Washington, died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester.

A celebration of Christian Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 11, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Thursday. Memorials are preferred to, Mayo Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Research and CADA House.

Kathy was born November 28, 1944 to Henry and Gretchen (Wise) Riley in Omaha, NE. She graduated from Good Counsel Academy in 1962 and then from South Central College. Kathy was united in marriage to Thomas "Mac" McArthur on April 24, 1965 in Mankato. Kathy was employed by Spence McCord in Madison, WI, McKesson Drug Company in Minneapolis, Hunt Accounting, and the Dahl House. Kathy was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Marysburg. Kathy enjoyed reading, walking with her friends, traveling, and caring for her family. Kathy was involved with Relay For Life and Cancer Research Mayo Foundation. Kathy hosted the SMILES waterskiing program at her home on Lake Washington.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Tom of Lake Washington; daughter, Amy (John) Knutson of Minneapolis; son, Chris McArthur of Minneapolis; grandson, Nicholas Knutson; mother, Gretchen Riley of Mankato; two sisters, Mary Oney and Peggy Johns both of Rochester; two brothers, Tom (Corri) Riley of North Mankato and Dan (Kristi) Riley of Bloomington; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Marlene of Nisswa, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Henry Riley; sister, Nancy Sullivan; niece, Heather Oney; nephew, Alex Johns; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mac and Delores McArthur.
