Larry R Glackler

Larry Richard Glackler, age 68, passed away at his home in Eagle Lake, Sunday, August 15, 2010.

Memorial Service 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 20, 2010 at Grace Baptist Church, Mankato. Burial will be at a later date in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation will be one hour before service at church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.

Larry was born December 8, 1941 to Arthur and Clara (Braam) Glackler in Mankato. After attending Mankato High School, he served in the U.S. Army for four years. He married Harriet Schaible in 1960. He was a 30 year employee of Kato Engineering and served as a volunteer fire fighter at the Eagle Lake Fire Department for 22 years. He was a long-time member of Eagle Lake American Legion Post 617 and was a past commander. He was an avid Vikings and Twins fan.

Larry is survived by his former wife, Harriet of Palm Springs, CA; three sons, Jeff of Brooklyn Park, Troy and Cory of Eagle Lake; two brothers, Rich (Jan) Glackler of St. Peter, Ron Glackler of North Mankato; and his beloved dog, Luke, his faithful companion.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve; infant sister, Gloria.
