Teresa Magdalena Erlandson, age 94 of Mankato, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 2, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato, with Fr. Andy Olsem officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Calvary Cemetery Chapel, the Blue Earth County Historical Society, or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Mankato Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
Teresa Erlandson was born March 23, 1916 in Ogilvie, MN to Anton and Anna (Niederegger) Salfer. She and Raymond were happily married on June 11, 1936 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church since 1943, where she was a Lay Eucharistic Minister for years. Teresa was also a member of the Catholic Daughters Guild, and held a life membership in the Blue Earth County Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening, helping others, and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Teresa was a very caring and nurturing individual, whether it was with her family, friends, or gardens. She lived her entire life as a resident of Mankato.
Teresa is survived by her daughter, Joan Busch and her husband Pat Brunner of Mankato; son, Marcus Erlandson and his wife Kristine of Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren, Julie (Jim) Simons, Jean (Bob) Laue, Tony (Meghan) Busch, Emily (Ed) Henning, Betsy (Tom) Henning, and Katie Erlandson; great-grandchildren, Katie, Jennie and Maggie Simons, Matt and Joe Laue, Elizabeth and Patrick Busch, Josie and Marcus Henning, and George and Lucy Henning.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; sister, Ann Westphal; brother, Tony Salfer, and son-in-law, Fred Busch.
