Fern Laurine Bell, age 95, of Plymouth, MN and formerly of Vernon Center, died Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Northridge Care Center in Plymouth.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 9, 2010 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Vernon Center with Rev. Vance Milbrath, officiating. Visitation will be from 12 " 2 p.m., Friday at church. Burial will be in Vernon Center Cemetery. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Fern was born April 10, 1915 to Albert and Martha (Pick) Pahl in Vernon Center. She graduated from Garden City High School in 1933. Fern was united in marriage to Wilbur W. Bell on August 3, 1940. They lived in Wells for three years and then moved to a farm in Vernon Center Township in 1943. She worked as a waitress for many years in Mankato along with helping her husband on the farm. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and traveling. Fern was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church for over 90 years.
Fern is survived by one son, Carrol and wife, Nancy of Powell, Wyoming; two daughters, Jean Lindl and husband, Willy of Plymouth and Marilyn Wartenberg and husband, Richard of River Falls, WI; four grandchildren, Matt Lindl and wife, Jill of St. Francis, MN, Steve Lindl of Plymouth, Nancy Wartenberg of River Falls, and Brenda Yohannes and husband, Tye of River Falls; two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Thomas Lindl; sister, Delilah (James) Maloney of Truman; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Bell of Mankato and Lora Johnston of Mapleton; and extended family.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur in 1989; and a
brother, Lawrence.
