Virginia Lannon, age 72 of North Mankato, MN, died June 28, 2010 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 2, 2010 at Mankato Mortuary Chapel, with Fr. Ted Hottinger officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be one hour before service on Friday.
Virginia was born October 31, 1937 to Shirley and Mary M. (McLaughlin) Skram in Mason City, Iowa. She graduated from Holy Family High School, Mason City in 1954 and then graduated from junior college in Mason City with a teaching degree. She was united in marriage to Dennis P. Lannon on August 13, 1959 in Mason City. She taught grade school in Hampton and Tipton, Iowa and also substituted at St. Joseph's School in Mason City. Virginia was employed for many years at Unissys in production and computers. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, and being with her family.
Virginia is survived by three sons, Steve Lannon of Burnsville, Denny Lannon of Circle Pines, Mike Lannon of Mankato; two daughters, Betsy (Marc) Chadderdon of Nicollet, Katy (Chris) Cook of Eagle Lake; grandchildren, Andrea, Ryan, and Tyler Lannon, Kayla and Ben Zwicke, Christine, Patrick, Michael, and Anna Cook, Taylor and Josh Chadderdon; six siblings, Steve (Jeri) Skram, John (Lynne) Skram, Christine (David) Sahn, Kathleen Jenkins, Mary Lynn (Skip) Farrell, and Jeanie (Rick) Tomy; and many extended family.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Denny in 2004; and a brother, Tom.
