Jerry Yom Yath, 73 of Mankato died Friday, June 25, 2010 at Mankato House Health Care Center.
A visitation for family and friends along with a Cambodian Prayer service will be held Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Mankato Mortuary.
Yom Yath was born September 3, 1936 to Yim and Ngam Yath in Cambodia. He married Tonn Em and they lived in Cambodia with their children until December 26, 1981 when they arrived in the United States.
Yom went to the technical school and worked very hard in various employments over the years.
Yom is survived by his 4 daughters Kimyean (Buthoeun) Pao, Mankato; Jackie Ros, Mankato; Soriyan (Ram) Son, Rochester; Isabelle Youneang Yath, Portland, Ore; 1 son Steven (Rosa) Yath, Mankato; 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; brother Yun Yath, Long Beach, CA; sister Yorm Yath, Cambodia; his former wife/best friend Tonn Em, Mankato. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 daughter.
