Leander "Lee or Len" Henry Rosenhammer, age 75, of Mankato died unexpectedly Friday, June 25, 2010.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Mankato with Rev. John Wilmot officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m., prayer service, Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association or the donor's choice.
Leander was born April 7, 1935 to John and Mathilda (Fischer) Rosenhamer in Sleepy Eye, MN. He graduated from St. Mary's High School, Sleepy Eye and attended Mankato State University. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-57. He was united in marriage to Angela M. Turbes on October 11, 1958 in Springfield, MN. She died May 15, 2004. He later married Adella Schueneman. Leander worked for Norwest Bank in Mankato for 20 years and then owned and operated Sherwood's Bobcat Sales for over 25 years. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and the church Men's Club. He was also a member of the Jaycees, Lions, Moose, and Eagles Clubs. He enjoyed Polka Music, the Green Bay Packers, and fishing.
Leander is survived by his wife, Adella Schueneman; daughter, Cheryl (Fritz) Bredenbeck of Edina; son, Brian (Kathy) Rosenhammer of Fort Worth, TX; two grandchildren, Kayla and Katie; Adella's five children; two brothers, Dennis (Mildred) Rosenhammer, Patrick (Joan) Rosenhamer all of Sleepy Eye; brother-in-law, Glen (Kathy) Turbes of Willmar; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Leander was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Angela in 2004.
