Charles Lloyd Buland, of Mankato died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2010 at Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Mankato Mortuary. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fairmont. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society and the Diabetes Association.
Charles was born May 12, 1953 in Fairmont to Lloyd and Margaret (Krueger) Buland. He graduated from Fairmont High School and attended two years of technical college. Charles worked for seventeen years as an electronic technician for Independent School District 77 in Mankato. He enjoyed being a VINE volunteer as well as helping friends and neighbors. Charles also enjoyed working with old electronics, listening to Big Band music, and watching old films which he converted from film strips to VCR tapes.
Charles is survived by his mother, Margaret Buland of Mapleton; brother, Robert (Carmen) Buland of Mapleton; two nieces, Kiyana and McKenna of Mapleton; step-niece, Ashley (Tony) Lueck; step-nephews, Alex; Andrew; step-great niece Addison; cousins, aunts and uncles.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Buland; uncle, Burt Buland; maternal and paternal grandparents.
