James M. Nibbe, age 26 of Lake Crystal, died August 31, 2010 at his home.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal with Rev. Debbie King Quale officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Amboy. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Minnesota Pheasant Inc.-Blue Earth County Chapter.
James was born October 30, 1983 to Mervin and Karen (Hengel) Nibbe in Mankato. He graduated from Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial High School in 2002. James worked for Hank and Jan Roelofs from the 8th grade through college. He graduated from Minnesota West Community College, Jackson Campus. From October of 2005 until present, he worked as an apprentice electrician for Maple River Electric. On May 24, 2008, James was united in marriage to Jennifer L. Gilman. He was a member of FFA, Ducks Unlimited-Lake Crystal Chapter, Garden City Rod and Gun Club, and Minnesota Pheasant, Inc.-Blue Earth County Chapter. James was a loving husband and stepfather, wonderful son, incredible brother and uncle. Jim loved to hunt and fish, work his dog and kayak. James enjoyed golf, sand volleyball and tinkering on projects one after the next. Jim loved spending time with his family and his friends and would help anyone, anytime.
James is survived by his wife, Jennifer; step-son, Brady Brown; parents, Mervin and Karen Nibbe of rural Vernon Center; three siblings, Dennis (Stacy) Nibbe and their daughter, Morgan of Good Thunder, Leslie (Brent) Johnson and their daughter Emily of Vernon Center and Jason Nibbe of Vernon Center; grandmother, Mable Nibbe of Truman; mother-in-law, Monika (Nick) Brown of Angora; father-in-law, Dan (Mary) Gilman of Lake Crystal; sister-in-law, Angie (Jamey) Sack and their children, Brandon, Cameron and Amanda of Janesville; brother-in-law, Kalin Brown; his black lab, Yukon; and many aunts, uncles and cousins
James was preceded in death by his grandparents: William Nibbe, Richard and Elvira Hengel.
