Patricia L. Borchert, age 74, of Mankato died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2010 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Schneider, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday with a 3:45 p.m. prayer service at Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will continue one hour before service at church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Pathstone Living, Mankato.
Patti was born April 4, 1936, in Mapleton, MN, to John Samuel and Mildred (Foley) Germo. Patti graduated from Mapleton High in 1954, and married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Borchert. She devoted her lifetime to raising 6 children in Mankato. Patti was involved and enjoyed spending time at the Elk's Club, Lake Washington Club, Mankato and Mapleton Curling Clubs, as well as SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church. Her favorite times were interacting with immediate and extended family while laughing, playing cards, dancing, cooking, boating, and in her younger years, curling.
Patti is survived by her 6 children, Susan (Henry) Morimoto of Waconia, Colleen (Scott) Larkin of Waukesha, WI, Michael (Susan) Borchert of Eden Prairie, Paul (Kristi) Borchert of Chanhassen, Peter Borchert of Madison Lake, Molly (Shawn) Kennedy of St. Peter; 13 grandchildren, Millie Irby, Joe (Julie), Katie, and Thomas Morimoto, Theresa and Sarah Larkin, Sydney, Sam, and Cooper Borchert, Bobby and Max Borchert, Ben and Brody Kennedy; great-grandchild, Claire Irby; sister, Mary Lorraine (William) Marso of Mankato; sister-in-law, Clarice Germo of Mapleton; several nieces and nephews.
Patti was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Thomas R. Borchert in 2008; nephews, William Dunn and James Marso; brother, John Germo; her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Thomas Dunn.
