Patrick F Kortuem

Patrick F. Kortuem, 71, of North Mankato died unexpectedly Friday, August 20th while on a fishing trip.

A celebration of life will be held at the Eagles Club in Mankato from 4-7pm on Monday, August 23, 2010.

Pat was born July 18th, 1939 to Matthew and Helen (Biehn) Kortuem in Mankato. He graduated from Huntley High School in 1958 and was proud to serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1958-1962. After his discharge from the service he attended Mankato State College and taught in Rapidan, Fitzgerald Middle School, Cleveland, and at the St Peter State Hospital.

During his retirement years he was an avid hunter and fisherman and helped with farming in the fall. Pat was a member of the Lake Crystal American Legion Post #294 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 269, Mankato.

He is survived by his wife Cindy, his children, Patrice (Randall) Kortuem , Alexandria, VA; Kevin (Dawn) Kortuem, Duluth, MN; Katie (Bryan) Allen, Mahtomedi, MN; and Sean (Dina) Kortuem, St Cloud, MN; and grandchildren Aubrey, Benjamin, Adin and Mollie. He is survived by his brothers Ray (Yvonne) Kortuem, Two Harbors, MN; Richard (Jeanne) Kortuem , Winnebago, MN; Jerry Kortuem, Fairmont, MN; and sisters Dorothy Stoeber, Pipestone, MN; and Phyllis Kortuem, Fairmont, MN.
