Elma Ann Reimer, age 96, of North Mankato, formerly of Mountain Lake, died Friday, May 21, 2010, at Oak Terrace Assisted Living in North Mankato.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday May 28, 2010, at Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato. Visitation will be from 10 " 11 a.m. at the church on Friday. Burial will be held in Mountain Lake Cemetery, Mountain Lake, MN.
Elma was born December 16, 1913, in Mountain Lake, MN as the oldest child to John and Anna (Ewert) Reimer. She attended country school through eighth grade and graduated from Mountain Lake High School. Elma worked as an assistant to a doctor in Mountain Lake for seven years and then continued her work with Dr. Kearney of Mankato for 51 years until retiring in 1999. She was an active member of the Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato, the Christian Women's Group and Friendship Builders. Elma enjoyed music and reading. She will be remembered as the gentle "little lady" who was lovingly involved with family and church. Elma loved every aspect of her work and the people involved.
Elma is survived by three brothers, Oliver (Geraldine) Reimer of Hugo, MN; Harold (Debra) Reimer of Brazil; Donald (Donna) Reimer of Mound, MN; one brother-in-law, George Hess of Aurora, IL; one sister-in-law, Edna Reimer of Bellingham, WA; also many nieces and nephews and their decedents.
Elma was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edwin and Harry; one sister, Linda; one sister-in-law, Adeline.
