Elizabeth Riewe

M. Elizabeth Riewe, age 87, of Lake Crystal, died Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Madelia Community Hospital.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 21, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery, rural Mankato. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church and will continue one hour before service at the church on Friday. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth was born March 12, 1923 to David L. and Margaret V. (Jones) Dackins in Judson Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1940. Elizabeth married Elmer W. Riewe on February 21, 1945 in Judson. She was a homemaker for her family and was secretary for the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Crystal for many years. Elizabeth was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was very active in the Presbyterian Women and church social activities. She was a member of the Tuesday "500" church card club and enjoyed reading.

Elizabeth is survived by six children, Ruth (Roman) Wendland of Farmington, Robert (Paige) Riewe of New Hope, Dennis (Diane) Riewe of Prior Lake, Mary Lou (Bill) Glenn of Fairbury, NE, Donald Riewe of Waseca, Paul Riewe of Lake Crystal; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Duffy of Lake Crystal, Marion (Frosty) Thomas of Cambria; many nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; and a sister, Elaine.
