Ronald Johnson

Ron "Rock" Johnson, age 63, of Mankato died Saturday, April 24, 2010.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will be one hour before service on Tuesday.

Ron was born January 17, 1947 in Preston, Minnesota the son of Howard and Millicent (Yates) Johnson. He attended Mankato State University and Bemidji State University and taught school in Mexico. He was employed at the State Hospital in St. Peter for 25 years before retiring in 2002. Ron loved spending time with his grandson, family, and friends. He enjoyed playing golf and basketball as well as watching football, basketball, and golf. He enjoyed listening to music, especially blues music, and attending blues festivals.

Ron is survived by his son, Jesse Johnson of Mankato; grandson, Dominick of Mankato; brother, Bruce (Jean) Johnson of Cottage Grove; step-daughter, Buffy of Newport Beach, CA; step-grandchildren, Xena, Paris, and Jerimy of Newport Beach, CA; nieces, Erin Dammen, Shannon Gonnion, and Sarah Heinemeyer; and many great nieces and nephews.

He was a kind and caring man that will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
