Dorothy Ann "Dodie" Dunn, age 79 of North Mankato, died Friday, April 23, 2010 surrounded by her family at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato, with Rev. Peter Nosbush officiating. Interment will be in Marysburg Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Monday at Mankato Mortuary, with an 8 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be given to donor's choice.
Dodie was born on March 1, 1931 in Mapleton to John Samuel and Mildred (Foley) Germo. She graduated from Pemberton High School in 1949. Dodie was united in marriage to Thomas Dunn at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Mapleton in 1953. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Dodie enjoyed cooking, singing, dancing, playing cards and traveling. She was great at telling stories, loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. Dodie also enjoyed long talks with her family and friends.
Dodie is survived by her devoted husband, Tom Dunn of North Mankato; nine children, Tim Dunn of Mankato, Mary (Patrick) Moore of Montevideo, John (Bridgette) Dunn of Greenwood, Jane (David) Auger of Falcon Heights, Thomas (Katie) Dunn of Burnsville, Anne (Martin) Davis of Shorewood, Elizabeth (Patrick) Donohue of Mendota Heights, Matthew Dunn of Mankato, Patrick (Diane) Dunn of Mankato; 24 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lorraine (William) Marso of Mankato, Patricia Borchert of Mankato; two sisters-in-law, Clarice Germo of Mapleton and Anna Manske of Madison Lake; also many nieces and nephews.
Dodie was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, William; nephew, James Marso; brother, John Germo; and brother-in-law, Tom Borchert.
