Petra L Meinjohans

Petra Louise Meinjohans, age 85 of Mankato, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at her home in Mankato.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Paul Laurer officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service on Saturday. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Petra Meinjohans was born December 7, 1924 to Peter and Maude (Footner) Nelson in Mankato. She graduated from Mankato High School. She was united in marriage to Harry Meinjohans on August 16, 1963 in Lake Crystal, Minnesota. Petra worked at Midtex for over 30 years.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Mankato, WOTM # 606 and volunteered at the MRCI Thrift Store. Petra enjoyed playing cards, reading, and going to the casino.

Petra is survived by two daughters, Linda Riggs and Karen Piper both of Mankato; one sister, Phyllis (Wilbur) Minkel of Mankato; two grandchildren, Stacey Luiken of Eagle Lake, Amy (Nate) Myhra of Mankato; three great-grandchildren, Abbigail Luiken, Megan and Andrew Myhra; step-daughter, Elvera Weyhrauch of Ham Lake; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Christopher; four sisters and one brother.
