Lavina M Waswo

Lavina "Hap" Maren Waswo, age 94 of North Mankato, died Friday, April 9, 2010 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 12, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church in Mankato, with Rev. Dawn Carder and Chaplain Gary Creech officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday at Mankato Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to ISJ Hospice or the Diabetic Youth Camp Scholarship Fund at ISJ Foundation.

Lavina was born on January 20, 1916 in Jackson, Minnesota. She was the daughter of George and Maude (Nissen) Cooper.

Lavina is survived by her daughter, Mary (Bob) Kitchenmaster of North Mankato; two grandchildren, Tami (Julian Vanderpump) Spence of San Diego, CA and T.J. (Autumn) Spence of Raleigh, NC, and Karl Kitchenmaster of Minnetonka; one great-granddaughter, Amelia Maren Vanderpump; also nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bud; sister, Jen; and son-in-law, Timothy J. Spence in 1983.
