Marilyn Jean Brown, age 68 of Mankato, died Friday, September 26, 2003 of pulmonary fibrosis and cancer at her home in the comfort of her family.
Funeral services 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Charles Ortloff officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation from 4"7 p.m., Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
Marilyn was born February 6, 1935. Her parents were Edward and Evelyn (Koorstad) Olson in Mankato. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1953. Marilyn was a long time realtor in the Mankato area. She most recently worked at Mankato American Legion Post #11 and provided Adult Foster Care. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, playing bingo and bargain hunting.
Survived by four children, Craig Schmidt and wife, Christy of Apple Valley, MN, Kimberley Schmidt of Mankato, Corey Schmidt and wife, Donna of Lake City, MN, Karrie Dehn and husband, Larry of Oak Park, MN; one brother, Richard Olson and wife, Janice of Mankato; longtime friend, Tom Cunningham of Mankato; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandson; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Richard Schmidt and Roger Brown.
