Mervin Oliver Elmore, age 72 of Garden City, died Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at Immanuel - St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday at Garden City Baptist Church with Rev. Harvey Hallada officiating. Burial with Military Honors in Garden City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 " 7 p.m., Friday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour before services at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be given to the donors choice.

Mr. Elmore was born September 24, 1930 to Oliver and Alice (Seip) Elmore in Blue Earth, Minnesota. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950 " 1953. Mervin married Shirley Clark on September 17, 1955 in Elmore, MN. He helped farm south of Winnebago prior to working at Garden City Farm Service. Mervin then worked for 30 years at the Lake Crystal Cooperative before retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Garden City Rod & Gun Club and the Lake Crystal American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and his family.

Mervin is survived by his wife, Shirley of Garden City, two sons, Douglas Elmore and wife, Karrina of Good Thunder, Kenneth Elmore and wife, Mary of Huntley, IL; three grandchildren, Cecilia and Olivia Elmore and Marc Elmore; two brothers, Maurice Elmore and wife, Marge of Blue Earth, Laverne Elmore and wife, Darlene of Fairmont; six sisters, Charlotte Robb of Blue Earth, Lorraine Chaffee of Delavan, Elaine Elmore of Blue Earth, Beverly Alfson and husband, Elwood Lefty of Winnebago, Joyce Farrow and husband, Leon of Ledyard, IA, Janice Deboer and special friend, Harold of Blue Earth; sister-in-law, Eldora Elmore of Ozark, MO; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald.
