Anna G. Kelley, age 96, of Lake Crystal, died Friday evening, August 22, 2003 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 28, 2003 at First Baptist Church in Lake Crystal with Pastor Jerry David officiating. Burial will be in Minneopa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at Lake Crystal Mortuary and one hour prior to services as the church on Thursday.

Anna was born in Hibbing, Minnesota on May 6, 1907 and was the daughter of Mark and Clara (Torgerson) Markeson of Lake Crystal. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1925 and attended Nursing School at Immanuel Hospital in Mankato. She married Arnold Kelley on October 15, 1927 in Mankato. They farmed for several years in Iowa and Garden City and moved to Lake Crystal in 1936. Anna worked as a pre-school teacher in Lake Crystal and for many years as a clerk at Lowers Store in Lake Crystal. After retiring, they spent many happy years at their lake home near Grand Rapids, MN.

Anna was a member of First Baptist Church, where she had served as deaconess, Sunday School teacher and superintendent, president of the Mission Guild, Flower Committee and Memorial Books historian. She had served as president of both the PTA and Band Boosters. Anna was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed nature, bible study, reading, and knitting.

Survivors include a son, Darwin Kelley and his wife, Anna of Sartell; two daughters, Norma Teigum of New Ulm, Betty Davis of Lake Crystal; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister; one brother-in-law; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; grandson, Timothy Teigum; two sons-in-law, Dennis Davis and Chris Teigum; brothers and sisters.
