Richard A. Lunde, age 88, of Lake Crystal, died Thursday, August 21, 2003 at Luther Memorial Home, Madelia.
Memorial Services 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2003, at Zion Lutheran Church, Lake Crystal, Rev. Nancy Dreier officiating. Private family burial in Lake Crystal Cemetery, Lake Crystal. Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church.
Richard was born October 16, 1914 to Henry and Manda (Larson) Lunde in Madelia. He moved with his family to Lake Crystal in 1922. Richard graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1932. He graduated with a business degree from Mankato Commercial College. He was united in marriage to Betty Clark February 10, 1940 in Lake Crystal. Betty died September 17, 1993. He started working at the Lake Crystal National Bank in Lake Crystal in January of 1940 and continued working there until retiring as Vice President in 1975. He also served for many years on its Board of Directors. He served on the Lake Crystal School Board, City Council, and was city treasurer for 12 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Lake Crystal Lions Club. He enjoyed gardening and reading.
Richard is survived by two children, Stephen Lunde and his wife, Joan of Pelican Rapids, MN, Martha Miller and her husband, Ronald of rural Lake Crystal; four grandchildren; Krista and Paul Kuhlman of Grand Forks, ND, Richard and Jackie Lunde of St. Cloud, Jim Miller and special friend, Jodie McGough of Lake Crystal, Johnna and Mike Hoff of Kasson; five great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Britta, and Jacob Kuhlman, Alexander Lunde, Breyden Miller; brother-in-law, William S. Hughes of Lake Crystal; sister-in-law, Ruth Lunde of Fargo, ND; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Orville and Norman; sister, Helen.
