Steven Michael Harms, age 54, of North Mankato, died Friday morning, August 22, 2003 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday at Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. Jim Ahlquist and Rev. Karl Rydholm officiating. Burial at 10:15 a.m. Monday at Woodland Hills Memorial Park. Visitation from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Mankato Mortuary.
Steve was born November 2, 1948 in St. James, Minnesota to Verlin and Marion (Undestad) Harms. He graduated from St. James High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Mankato State College. On June 28, 1969, he was united in marriage to Lynelle Martinson in St. James.
Steve was employed with Carlson Craft prior to his employment with MGA Graphics in 1981. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, where he had served on various boards and committees. Steve was an Eagle Scout, Jaycee member and served as President of the Mankato Softball Association for many years. He enjoyed curling, golfing, woodworking, and playing softball.
Steve is survived by his wife, Lynelle Harms of North Mankato; two children, Erik Harms and his wife, Gina of Richfield, Stephanie Harms of St. Louis Park; a grandson, Ethan Harms; mother, Marion Harms of St. James; brother, Gary Harms of St. Louis Park; sister, Nancy MacDonald and her husband, Craig of Brainerd; mother-in-law, Alys Martinson of St. James; brother-in-law, Kent Martinson of Tennessee; nieces and nephews, Liza MacDonald, Travis MacDonald, Brett Martinson and family, Jennifer McEvan and family. He was preceded in death by his father and father-in-law.
