Calvin M. Oachs, age 79 of Mankato, died Wednesday (August 13, 2003) at his home.

Graveside services with military honors will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday at Woodland Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Mankato with Rev. Rueben Reimers and Rev. Donald Moldstad officiating. Memorials may be given to the donors choice. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Calvin M. Oachs was born July 23, 1924 to William and Minnie (Ward) Oachs in Sterling Center, MN. He attended Mankato schools. Calvin was united in marriage to Margaret Weih on January 1, 1943 at St. Pauls Ev. Lutheran Church in North Mankato. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1944 " 1945. Calvin worked at Honeymead of Mankato for 35 years.

He was a member of Mt. Olive Church in Mankato and Eagle Lake American Legion. His interests included woodworking, gardening, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons and their wives, Steven and Joyce Oachs and William and Sharon Oachs all of Mankato; five grandchildren, Terry Oachs and wife, Shelley, Stacie Buccelli and husband, Butch, Kevin Oachs and wife, Dana, Craig Oachs and wife, April, Greg Oachs and wife, Jenny; 12 great-grandchildren, Jazmine, Corey, Mitch, Megan, Jacob, Kaylee, Jett, Garrett and Kaden Oachs, Joe, Max and Katie Buccelli; five sisters, Doris Mattingly, Florence Standfest, Beulah McComb, Birdell Loe, Whilma Smith all of Mankato. Preceded in death by three daughters, two sisters, and eight brothers.
