Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2003 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Parkton, MD. Visitation 3-5 & 7-9 p.m on Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at Barranco & Sons, PA, Serverna Park Funeral Home. Graveside service 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2003 at Johnsville Cemetery, rural Lucan, MN. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Rev. Schmiesing is survived by his wife, Lois of 56 years, three sons, Robert of Fairfax, VA, John of Tempe, AZ, Richard of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Bethh Phillips of Arnold, MD; sister, Everell Bartsch of Mankato, MN; ten grandchildren, three nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Edward Schmiesing.
