Evelyn Jan Roemer
Evelyn Jan Roemer, age 90, of Madison Lake, died Monday, August 4, 2003 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake with Rev. Patrick Arens officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Madison Lake. Visitation from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at All Saints Catholic Church with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation continues one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Memorials are preferred to All Saints Catholic School. Mankato Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
Evelyn was born January 1, 1913 in Velva, North Dakota to John and Pearl (Primmer) Catulla. She graduated from Velva High School and from Beauty School in Grand Forks. She worked as a beautician in Mankato prior to her marriage. On June 14, 1937, she was united in marriage to Theodore (Ted) Roemer at St. Johns the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato. Jan was a clerk at the Madison Lake Post Office for 30 years. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, St. Anns Altar Society, Madison Lake Historical Society, Catholic Order of Foresters and the Madison Lake Bridge Club. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing, and traveling with her husband in a motor home.
Survivors include her husband, Theodore (Ted) Roemer of Madison Lake; three children, Theodore (Ted) Roemer Jr. of Superior, Montana, Robert J. (Bob) Roemer and his wife, Lois of Mankato, Elizabeth J. (B.J.) White of Marion, Iowa; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Violet Hoehn of Mankato; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Gladys, Lucille, and Dorothy.
