Lawrence A. Strobel, age 91, of Mankato, died Monday, July 28, 2003 at Immanuel-St. Josephs Hospital in Mankato.
Memorial service 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Hilltop United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Koppen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hilltop United Methodist Church. Mankato Mortuary is handling arrangements.
Lawrence was born December 1, 1911 in Rochester to Andy and Mae (Rabine) Strobel. He graduated from Randolph High School in Minnesota. He farmed and worked at an auto garage in Northfield. On November 29, 1941, he was united in marriage to Eileen Revier in Northfield. Lawrence worked for Soo Line Railroad for 40 years, living in Superior, WI and Oak Park, IL. After retirement, they moved to Mankato.
Lawrence was a member of Hilltop United Methodist Church. He enjoyed reading, working and detailing his automobiles, and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Strobel of Mankato; sister-in-law, Lorraine Lundin and husband, Roy of Mankato; brothers-in-law, Leonard Revier of Boulder City, NV, Roger Revier and wife, Grace of Delano, MN; many nieces and nephews, including, Larry and Barbara Lundin of Kingston, MA, Skip and Pat Lundin of West Hurley, NY, Lana and Dan Held of Elysian.
Preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim Strobel.
