Elmer W. Pahl, age 93 of Lake Crystal, died Monday (July 14, 2003) at the Mapleton Community Home as the result of a car, bike accident. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m., at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Vernon Center. Burial will be in Vernon Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday (TODAY) at the Lake Crystal Mortuary. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church on Thursday. Elmer W. Pahl was born February 11, 1910 to August and Augusta (Gruen) Pahl in Vernon Center. Elmer was united in marriage to Marie Klaes on June 22, 1963 in Lake Crystal. He worked as a truck driver, at Honeymead, and later was a boiler engineer at MSU. Elmer enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by one sister-in-law, Betty Pahl of Vernon Center; three nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and one sister.
