Stephan Regnier, age 61 of Mankato, passed away on August 3, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems " Mankato.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, August 8, 2014 at Mankato Mortuary, 1001 N Riverfront Dr, with a visitation from 4-6:30 p.m.

Steve Regnier was born on January 8, 1953 in Willmar, MN to Edward and Phyllis (Rustand) Regnier. At a young age his family moved to Arizona. He graduated high school in Scottsdale, AZ in 1971and later graduated from Arizona State University. As an avid sports fan, he played baseball and golf. Steve laid tile flooring for 5 years. In 1980, Steve was injured while working as a test driver for Ford Motor Co. Despite his accident and all the challenges that followed, Steve's spirit and perseverance never faltered. He continued to be active in the community; was on the Board of Smiles, the local DARE program and was awarded the Good People Award. Steve married the love of his life, Kristi Leiding, on October 18, 2007.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kristi Regnier; mother, Phyllis Regnier; sisters, Carol Regnier, Donna Jones (special friend, Steve), and Leigh (Russ) Mygrant; stepchildren, Nicole, Danielle, and Shawna Leiding; step-granddaughter, Paisleigh Blankenship; 16 nieces and nephews; 5 great-nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Regnier and his grandparents.
